Through continuous research and improvement by the team, significant breakthroughs have been made in the use of peach neck beetle attractants. These attractants have been tested and evaluated by landscaping authorities in Baotou, Wuhan, and Shenyang, and have achieved good trapping effects. They have gradually formed a relatively mature technology and product, laying an important application foundation for the green prevention and control of peach neck beetle, an important stem boring pest in gardens and orchards.
Please find attached the comments of Mr. Jiang Sandang, a senior member of the China Garden and Plant Protection Committee.
”This is an excellent piece of plant protection news. Congratulations to the dedicated team of Professor Fan Jianting from Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University!
The research and application of sexual attractants is a practical biological product and production operation that highlights the principle of "prevention first" in the field of plant protection, which is the safest, most environmentally friendly, most specific, and convenient. There have been few breakthroughs in the research and application of sexual attractants for large and medium-sized adult beetles in the past. Regardless of the order and genus of insects, the sexual attractants developed in various fields in the past have strong specificity and obvious targeting, and do not possess the characteristics of broad-spectrum pesticides. I wonder if the current "peach neck beetle sexual attractant" has made a breakthrough in this regard?
Thank you to Mr. Xie Fan and all the silently dedicated plant protection workers!
I also hope that friends and colleagues from all over the country who have the conditions can provide detailed and standardized data on experiments and applications to assist Professor Fan Fan, in order to further enrich and support his research and development achievements.
Open up a new track and take it to the next level! Garden plant protection, great!
